Traditionally, el Día de los Muertos is an annual Mexican religious holiday when families formally remember deceased loved ones, gather to honor their memories, and go to cemeteries to lay flowers and offerings.
In the United States, the ancient tradition morphs into cultural events that people attend to reinforce their customs and beliefs in a festive context.
As in previous years, HISI will have a booth to display and offer for purchase their newest and most popular books and publications.
HISI will be in space 56 on the Center Street side of the Mesa Arts Center, near the northeast corner of First Avenue.
Admission to the festival is free and will have activities for the whole family.
The 2022 Day of the Dead Festival hosted by the Mesa Arts Center will take place on Saturday, October 22, and Sunday, October 23. HISI will be a vendor at this cultural event on both days.
